Who is Jan G. Linn?
I am co-pastor with my wife, Joy, of a congregation open minded and open hearted people who
love to read, think, and discuss important issues. But what I say mostly about myself is that I am a writer. That is what
energizes me the most. I would rather write than preach. It is a passion of mine because even in this image driven culture
of ours I still believe in the power of words. I get inspired, challenged, upset, and encouraged by the words of others.
I hope I can do the same through the use of my own. I am also a Christian, but not the kind that gets in the news much. I
believe Christians are the people of God, but not the only people of God. I think religion can be a postive or a negative
force, depending on what is believed and how it is used. I think beliefs are too important not to be taken seriously. So I
write and think about faith, politics, life, and where I fit into all of it. That's who I am.
I am also a father and a grandfather. I mention this because in the end I believe
it is how we are remembered by those who love us that tells the real story about the kind of person we have been. It doesn't
get much better than loving my family and be loved by them.
